POULSBO, WA) April 10, 2009 -- The 2009 KCS 6th Annual Celebrity Golf Benefit for Cancer is scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2009. Kitsap Cancer Services and its partners are dedicated to providing a wide range of non-medical, life enhancing education and support services for cancer patients and their family members, friends, and caregivers. All proceeds are spent in the greater Kitsap community. Players tee off, scramble format, at 1:00 at Kitsap Golf and Country Club. Local Event sponsors & Lunch Sponsor include Tim Ryan Construction, Inc. and SablehausWest Inc., along with Eagle sponsors; Mike’s Car Wash, Morrow, Kidman, Tinker & Pence Law Offices and The Doctors Clinic.

An impressive group of Northwest sports legends headline the event. Participants and sponsors will spend the day playing alongside former Huskies, Cougars, and Seahawks stars, including former UW Head Football Coach Jim Lambright, former Head Football Coach and WSU Hall of Fame Member Jim Walden, and former UW Assistant Football Coach Dick Baird. Former Huskies players include Cary Conklin, Paul Skansi, and Greg Lewis. Former Cougar players include Mariner All-Star John Olerud, NBA star Craig Ehlo, and footballers Drew Bledsoe, Jason Gesser, Mark Rypien, Jack Thompson, Reuben Mayes, Robbie Tobeck, Kerry Porter, and Brett Carolan.
